WHO WE ARE

Black Rodeo USA is made of rodeo industry and event professionals, as well as community leaders, who are passionate about providing audiences with a one-of-a-kind cultural experience.

THE BRUSA STORY

KEEPING BLACK RODEO ALIVE

Black Rodeo USA began with a desire to expand the Black Rodeo USA Experience beyond Arizona, where its flagship rodeo began in 2011.

Now in its fifth year of touring, Black Rodeo USA is on a mission to be a gathering place where family values are honored and individuals of all ages are entertained, educated and enriched.

When Lanette Campbell joined the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo Association as an Arizona coordinator to present a Black Rodeo in her hometown during 2008, little did she know that she would make Black Rodeo her mission. After learning Bill Pickett Rodeo wouldn't return to the Grand Canyon State, she set out on a journey to give newfound rodeo fans an event to look forward to each year.

By 2011, she founded Arizona Black Rodeo Association and was able to include the rodeo as an official event of the Centennial Legacy Project in 2012. Since then Arizona Invitational Black Rodeo – which now reaches as many as 10,000 fans each year – has been named 10Best Rodeo by USA Today for three consecutive years: 2024; 2025; and 2026.
